Invasive Plants

Havenwood Park’s ecosystems are being threatened by various invasive non-native plants that include Scotch Broom, Himalayan blackberry, Daphne, and Holly.

This is a critical time for invasive plant management in Havenwood Park. By acting now we are stopping invading non-native plants before they become well established and unmanageable in the park.

If Scotch broom is allowed to continue it’s growth into Havenwood Park’s sensitive Garry Oak ecosystems the blooming spring wildflowers we have today will be a thing of the past!
